Auto-education

Auto-education

Auto-education, also known as self-education, is the principle that children learn best when they are actively engaged in their own learning process, rather than passively receiving instruction. Montessori observed that when given the right environment and materials, children naturally seek out knowledge, experiment, and refine their skills without extrinsic motivation. This concept is rooted in the belief that learning is most meaningful when it arises from the child's innate curiosity and interests, rather than being imposed by an adult.
