False fatigue is a phenomenon observed in Montessori classrooms where children experience a period of restlessness or distraction before re-engaging with work in deep concentration. It has been observed that after a sustained period of focused work, children often become momentarily unsettled, leading some adults to mistakenly believe they need a break or redirection. However, if allowed to navigate this period of false fatigue independently, children naturally return to their work with even greater concentration and energy.
