Independence

Independence

Independence is a core goal of Montessori education, as it supports children in developing confidence and self-reliance. Montessori observed that children have an intrinsic desire to do things for themselves, from dressing independently to preparing their own meals. By offering opportunities for children to engage in exercises of practical life and child-directed learning, Montessori environments foster independence.
